Worked bottom up, in the round. The trunk of Alcyone is all stockinette above the decorative edging, so there is plenty of plain knitting to work your favorite shaping modifications in. The hems and yoke are decorated in twist stitch hexagons and stars. The sample is worked in squishy Cormo from Elemental Affects Yarn. The sample show is a size .

Knitting in the round, twist stitches, grafting stitches, increasing, decreasing.

Yarn:
Elemental Affects Cormo Worsted 4 oz (112 gr) skeins, approximately 250 yards (3-ply), shown in 122 – Pansy
5, 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) 13, 14 skeins
Buy an extra skein of yarn for any of the following:
• The knitter’s gauge tends to be tight
• There will be more length in the sleeves or body than shown on the schematic
• The knitter will be including optional bust darts
Needles:
1 24-inch US 8, 5mm circular needle
1 24-inch US 6, 4mm circular needle
1 set US 8, 5mm double-point needles
1 set US 6, 4mm double-point needles
Gauge:
Wash and lay flat to dry before checking gauge.
22 sts/31 rows = 4”, 10cm in stockinette stitch
23 sts/29 rows = 4”, 10cm in twist stitch.

If substituting yarn, give consideration to matching fiber and fiber properties as closely as possible to get similar results.
