I finished my lunch on Saturday and it was 12:30 when I sat down outside on the deck to knit. This is where I was Saturday at 2:30. I had started my Saturday knitting with the seed stitch ruffle and 7 rows of the cable band completed and I had 3 more hours before we needed to get ready and go out to dinner. I needed to make progress. I got through the remaining rows of my cable band and then decided to figure out how long it would take me to finish. I did a quick row calculation: how long did it take me to do one, and how many did I need to do. Based on my progress thus far, I figured I would need about 6.5 hours to finish. Fortunately, I’m listening to a great book and the weather was lovely. I didn’t note how far I actually got before I had to quit, but I had 4 checks for having completed 4 of 5 buttonholes. I think I had started the 5th.
Dinner was awesome. Fabulous food, and how many places in SF encourage you to linger and enjoy. Three hours at the table. I got home and got the last buttonhole finished and was into the middle of the Rev St st finish when I quit for the night. When I looked at it in the morning I needed to take out a couple of rows, but I got on track and finished it, then picked up stitches for my side Ruffle. I worked one row before we had to leave for our Sunday afternoon engagement at the opera. I worked a bit before the opera, almost finished during the first intermission, then wrapped it up at the second one.
Here’s the final piece. Sewed buttons on this morning and it was off in FedEx to a trunk show on Wednesday.
I had another project in my purse to work on. This is deadline knitting time.
