I constantly wonder why I don’t blog all the time. I’ve got tons of stuff rattling around in my head that I could share, but sometimes it is hard to find the time. Then I have a day like today and I realize that despite the fact that I have lots of help (Wendy, Linda, Robin, knitters too many to mention, and many others who provide skills I don’t have) I do a lot of stuff.
Today I spent a lot of time out of my office, which is a little unusual, but it is days like this that keep me from having time to blog more:
6:30 am Up with the Alarm (did I mention that we went to bed at 1 am because Mitch had a late meeting?)
7:15 am Got in the shower after Mitch had finished
7:45 am Office: email, social networks, check in with Wendy
Sewed second sleeve on sample for photo shoot. Buttons sewn on same. Finish weaving in ends. Sew button on new child’s cardigan (Thanks Shelby–too cute! Blocking was all it needed) but no time to work in ends–I’ll get Linda to do it at the photo shoot.
10:15 am Get stuff for photo shoot ready to pack into car (from guest room to garage)
10:25 am Get car from rental garage
10:30 am Load car.
10:39 am Drive downtown for meeting at FIDM
11:10 am Arrive at FIDM (5 minutes early!). Lunch is salad and soda bread. I want seconds but figure it is probably rude. Eat a brownie. Probably not enough food (note, no breakfast).
12:30 pm Leave FIDM and meet Linda. Get car from garage.
12:45 pm On the road to Oakland! I printed directions, phone number, but we get there without a hitch–so we’re early!
1:10 pm Unpack the car and get ready.
1:30 pm Begin photo shoot! Linda works in ends and gets last sample completed. Slaves away as back up, making sure we get everything we can shot, and catching all the weird wrinkles and stuff that Nancy and I miss.
3:10 pm Nancy says we’ve shot 46 pieces. I announce I’m nearly done in! We shoot until 4:05.
4:16 pm Linda and I pull away with car packed (samples neatly folded back into suitcase and containers thanks to Linda).
4:45 pm I’ve dropped Linda near her apartment. Pull up in front of house to unload car. Tile contractor is beginning his exodus so I unload into the front hall and will get everything back to the guest room when he’s done.
4:55 pm Return car to parking spot. All I can think about is eating something. Barely recall walking home.
5:00 pm Go to the garage to get something to eat out of the refrigerator–but the tile contractor has the door blocked. Go to my office instead.
5:03 pm Phone call from Mitch. Talk to the tile contractor. Answer emails, etc.
6 pm Okay, just write a blog post. Nothing else is going to happen today. Can I just eat pretzels?
6:15 pm Off for pretzels. Then I can get everything out of the front hall.
6:30 pm Clear out the front hall.
6:45 pm Off to the food trucks! Wonder what is for dinner?
