Fall Color

I know we are all waiting for Spring to arrive, but in the world of fashion, Fall is in the air. The NY, London, Milan & Paris fashion shows are now complete and assessments are being made.

If you want to know what colors the designers used, and look at the color reports for Fall, click here.  Favorite saturated colors ranged from French Roast, Honey Gold, Pink Flambe, Tangerine Tango, Ultramarine, Bright Chartreuse, and Olympian Blue, while Titanium, Rhapsody and Rose Smoke are soften things.

There is also a page on the Pantone website to show you to what to wear as Spring approaches:  Tangerine Tango, Solar Power, Sodalite Blue, Bellflower, Cabaret are all saturated tones, while Margarita, Sweet Lilac, Driftwood, Cockatoo, Starfish are the soft tones.  So if you are making color choices, this will help you see ahead. If you’ve been shopping recently you know that Tangerine Tango was the winning color for the season.

We knitters sometimes have to plan ahead a bit, so knowing what direction Fall is going can be helpful in planning projects.  At least you know what colors will be available at stores.  I like how many of the color concepts are just moving ahead from Spring 2012.  If you want to use that Tangerine, it will be there in the Fall too.  Think how cool it is if you make a sweater and can then wear it with rich brown (excuse me, French Roast) bottoms when the weather starts to change.

I’m thinking about 2013 colors.  Got to plan ahead.
