Get Ready! FestiKAL, Finishing Challenge, Identity Challenge

Get Ready! A lot is going on right now, and as the meme I’ve been seeing says,

Get Ready!
Knitters have been training our entire lives for this!

Rather than aimlessly knit during the upcoming days, here are three ways to focus your mind and knitting.

Get Ready! FestiKAL

FestiKAL discounts started March 16 and runs through March 29 and is both a KAL and an opportunity to get patterns at 25% off. Each day, beginning March 16, and ending March 29, I am adding a pattern to my discounted list. Below is the date and pattern.  Each is discounted 25% (unprecedented at Jill Wolcott Knits)!  Once discounted, the pattern will stay on discount through March 29.  This allows you to plan your purchases.  Remember, you get a lot for your pattern bucks at Jill Wolcott Knits. This is only through the Ravelry Store because I don’t have time to set up the discounts here.Get Ready: FestiKAL

This is the list of Jill Wolcott Knits patterns on and coming on discount during FestiKAL.

Buy one of my patterns (go here to see my Bundle–which lists the undiscounted price), or look for other FestiKAL designers (many from South America) and buy their patterns. Did you know that you make a huge difference to an independent designer when you post a project page on Ravelry?  So you can get your discount, and make our patterns more visible!  More information, now in English on Ravelry

Get Ready! Jill Wolcott Knits Finishing Challenge

I wrote about this in my last blog post and have since made it possible to sign up for any of the three ways you can participate in the Finishing Challenge and begin training!  Training started on March 16 and runs through March 29, then shifts to the actual challenge on March 30.

The challenge runs through April 30.  One month.  What do you want to finish? Get Ready: Jill Wolcott Knits Finishing Challenge

I’ve created three categories:

  1. Knitting or whatever craft you want (UFO) to transform an in-progress or planned project.  Get it done, hit some mile posts, or just knit and enjoy the interactions with other knitters.
  2. Knitting Finishing (KFC) is for projects sitting in your finishing pile(s).  Again, it might be putting it together, redoing or picking up and finishing trim, adding buttons, blocking, etc.  This is to get that finishing done, done, done!
  3. Organizing Projects (ORG) can be anything. Organize your knitting projects, your desk, your pantry, your art projects, other crafts. Whatever you need some company to help you through!

Sign up for the Jill Wolcott Knits Finishing Challenge (free) then get on the Finishing Challenge Slack Channel (only available to those who sign up) so you can chat.  I’ll be working along with you, and will do some videos or live demos if I can get some good ideas from you.  There are planning documents galore that are available when you sign up! I’ve got more, but you need to be on Slack to find out! Find out my thoughts on organizing, the book Better than Before and what I love (and don’t) about Mari Kondo.

Trust me, I know this stuff!  I know it, read it, but need to implement (see chaos behind me).

Get Ready! Identity KAL

Get Ready: Identity KALAs designers we adored working to put the Identity project together. I love the stole I did, and am nearly ready to add the lace weight version (get the pattern now to get that one at a discount in April). I’m also working on a garment design using the patterns I used. The patterns are available in the eBook, or as individual patterns from each designer on Ravelry (mine also available here).  You get more bang for your buck buying the book, plus you get to read what each of us said about Identity, and how we put the Identity Collection together. The single pattern for Somerset Stole is discounted on Ravelry through March 29 (see FestiKAL above)

I have done a Styling Studio video for the two weights of stoles.

The Identity KAL launches on Instagram March 19 and knitting goes through May. Details coming on Thursday and I’ll post them here as I get them.  There will be pattern giveaways to participants. #IdentityKAL, #IdentityKALWIP, #IdentityKALFO
