This is the download for the Japanese Knitting Stitch Lace-1.1 Swatch.
This is such a pretty lace pattern. Did you know that knitted lace has lace patterning every row or round and this is knitted lace. Other patterns with lace patterning every other row or round are referred to as lace knitting.
I found figuring out the charting of this lace to be a challenge because it is a repetition of 4 stitches — except for row 4, which needs 8 stitches to work. Trust me, I tried every other way!
Yarn for Japanese Knitting Stitch Lace-1
My swatch is knitted in Elemental Affect Civility Sport. This version of the Japanese Knitting Stitch Lace-1 has not yet been blocked, and I know it will flatten out with blocking. The sheen from the silk is lovely for catching light and the movement of the stitches. I’ve also knitted this in Wash My Lace from Anzula, which is what I’m making my cardigan in.
Wouldn’t this make a lovely cardigan or wrap? So I’m making a cardigan! I’m using lace weight yarn. My plan is to offer a LaceCardi-KAL, and you will knit along. The resulting LaceCardi pattern will be available to the LaceCardi-KAL participants. I reserve the right to offer tips and suggestions!
