I’m going to launch this concept as part of the Sheepspot Yarn Club project I am undertaking this year. Knits and Clothes will be clothing suggestions to go with Jill Wolcott Knits patterns. I know what this finished piece will be, and I chose these things to create a board of what I would wear with it (assuming I was shopping the world, not my closet). Sheepspot provided the collage of images in the upper left.
This one isn’t a pattern yet–still mostly a ball of yarn–but I will be offering it as a limited edition pattern when it is completed. I’ve knit 45g of 100g and I am waiting on needles for the second piece. Can you believe that I don’t have the correct length? If you saw my needle collection (I probably have 10 circulars in the size I need) you would be shocked that I don’t have what I need. I haven’t bought needles in years, but I’ve now broken that run.
I am using a stitch pattern that I used in the Pattern Recognition Throw that is part of my Craftsy class (Pick the Perfect Stitch Pattern). The knitter who made the throw that Sheepspot dyed the yarn for noted how a couple of the patterns really “sang” in the hand painted yarn. I pulled out the sample and chose one of those. Of course it will be different because I’m using different stitch numbers, but it seemed like a great place to go to find a pattern to use for a quick and easy pattern.
