Meet me in Taos at the end of September/first of October! I am scheduled to teach classes at the Taos Wool Festival on September 30 and October 1. I’ve never been to the Taos Wool Festival, but I know people who go there come back time and time again, so I decided it was a venue I wanted to be a part of this year.
Visiting Taos
The only time I’ve been to Taos, I remember wool, dry heat, and dust. Plus a cute traditional style hotel room with a kiva stove in the corner. Romantic in an other-worldly way. We had no plans and that was probably a mistake. There are things to do around Taos, but this requires some planning. This time, I will have a schedule of classes, so not a lot of time to explore, so I’m going to be doing some research on what to do in my spare time. I think I would like to take in the historic homes and buildings. That’s probably all I will have time for. Oh, and food. I always spend more time thinking about what I will eat and drink than anything else. So there are these spots.
Classes at Taos Wool Festival
The complete workshop list is here, but these are the workshops I’m doing:
Knitting Techniques that Simply Amaze, Part 1, 9 am to noon, Friday, 9/30
Knitting Techniques that Simply Amaze, Part 2, 1 pm to 4 pm, Friday, 9/30
- These two classes will introduce you to techniques you use in all your knitting. This is what I love about these techniques. I’ve designed the workshops to teach the technique and show how each can be used. Make a day of it by taking both, or take one of them. You will not be disappointed!
Art Button Craft, 9 am to 11 am, Saturday, 10/1
Multiple Stitch Increases and Picking Up Stitches, 2 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, 10/1
- Designed for shorter sessions, these make and take sessions will introduce methods and techniques. Design a button to go with a project or just for fun, Art Button Craft will give you ideas for making buttons and brooches. It is just plain fun. Multiple Stitch Increases and Picking Up Stitches will demonstrate a variety of ways to get situationally cool results when picking up stitches or increasing multiple stitches.
The classes themselves are very reasonably priced. The roster of instructors in a variety of areas is diverse, and Taos is a destination all on its own. Sign Up Now! This link gives more information on my workshops, with links to all the information.
