Melissa Leapman’s Professional Development Summit

Melissa Leapman’s Professional Development Summit

I’m so pleased to be a part of Melissa Leapman’s Professional Development Summit exciting weekend of Classes and Workshops. August 28 and 29, 2021.

Registration and all the information available here.

Classes I’m Presenting!

Sizing: Once and for All August 28, 12-2 PM EDT

Learn how to make pattern grading in any size range repeatable and relatively straightforward. You’ll be able to set a size range, set the grade between sizes at various places, and then reuse that table for every design.  Jill’s expert technique allows for multiple size tables and several types of sizing. This illuminating session will discuss resources, spread sheets, and an introduction to application. More sizes equal more pattern sales!

Collaborations: Making It Work August 28, 3-4 PM EDT

Collaborations can definitely add to your bottom line. In this session, learn how to set workable parameters for everything you do to assure that everyone gets what they need for a successful project, from yarnies to sample knitters to tech editors. We’ll discuss deadlines, responsibilities, money, resources, and more. Working together makes every project better!

Need some balance? (Who doesn’t?) Industry expert Jill Wolcott shares exercises and stories to help you learn to balance your personal teeter-totter. (I’ve got one; do you?) Find ways to get what you want, do what you need, and live a creative life. Take control and make your life truly yours!

Creating Balance: Find Your Designing Equilibrium August 29 11-Noon EDT

Have you found you can’t do it all? Learn how to establish relationships with sample knitters and/or test knitters (there’s a difference!) to help you meet your creative goals.  In this fact-filled session, we’ll discuss parameters and deadlines, brainstorm ideas for effective interactions, and better, more successful products.

To Knit (Or Not) August 29 1-2 PM EDT

Whether pastel or bright, bashful or bold, color always tells a story.  As any artist or designer will tell you, color study is a never-ending, life-long process. In this session, we’ll review basic color theory and learn how to create exciting color stories. We’ll also discuss resources and inspirations to help invigorate your designer mind and your offerings.

Color Theory/Color Brilliance August 29 5-6 PM EDT

Join me for Melissa Leapman’s Professional Development Summit, and check out the other offerings!
