12-28-12 Last night I had no internet connection. The recalcitrant modem finally just quit. Good riddance and hopefully Mitch is out buying a new one as I write this. I’m online using the iPad as a hotspot. Don’t know what that means, but I am grateful to be able to check in.

I got home about 7 pm last evening and settled in on the couch with some on-demand TV. Mitch was trying to close a deal so he had to cancel our trip to the SFMoma. But I thought I’d whip out some quickie samples and gifts. This is what I did with this ball of Fixation. I haven’t made anything out of it in years and I’d forgotten how fun it is to work with.
I’d gone to Britex to get ribbon for the Wedding Garter and knew I needed something for the Valentine Thong, so I was excited to find really pretty and colorful elastic options. That changed my whole idea of what to do to finish the garters, and the thong. I bought a roll of Tulle ribbon too to make an additional embellishment for the thong, which will be revealed in February.
The thong pattern is being redone and will be reissued soon. Seriously, I knit the thong in about two hours. I think you don’t even have to wear it–just hang it on a door knob! The wedding garter is a one-hour project.
There was leftover yarn of the red Fixation. I’m knitting boobs for a friend who just had a mastectomy (we’re in development stages as I have to figure out the right size). so I thought a red boob would be nice for sportier occasions where one might like cotton. Got nearly a complete boob out of what was left.
