Porto pre-pattern documents are available at no cost. The Porto pattern will only be available in the Sizzlin’ Stitches e-book, available on Ravelry and on PayHip. Porto releases on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The e-book will cost $8 that week. You can buy it now for $5!
tldr; actual reading time is 2 minutes.
There are links for Porto documents that can be downloaded at no cost.
In a nod to how we actually access and use patterns in our digital world, I make all the documents and information you might need to make decisions available outside of the paid pattern.

Porto Swatching (available as a separate document for those using the Pattern Tailor)
Begin by selecting the yarns you would like to use. You can use any yarn you’d like, from lace weight to super bulky! You can use 2 colors and/or 2 different yarns. For the e-Book version of the pattern you will have to do your own calculations for gauge and stitches, but I have guidance as you go.
Needles
Choose your needles based on your yarn. If you are using different yarns, choose needles suitable to the heaviest yarn.
- When choosing the diameter of your needle, you can use the needle size recommended by the manufacturer or change it according to your preference:
- Use a smaller needle, you will get a denser fabric.
- If you use a bigger needle, you will get a more open fabric.
Make a Swatch
Although it is not strictly necessary to swatch for this headscarf, having actual swatch information will give you much more accurate final dimensions of your headscarf. You can use the swatching information for the second design, Napoli!
