This is the sort of thing I can expect when I get a notice of a package waiting at the post office.
In late August I found out that the yarn company had sent the wrong gauge yarn to my knitter for a project I was working on. I really like the yarn, and didn’t want the knitter to have nothing to do while waiting for more yarn to be shipped, and she was agreeable to knitting an additional project, so I got new swatching instructions to her and mailed some additional yarn that I had to her and a new project was launched. This despite the fact that I am not supposed to start new projects. That’s what I promised myself.
On Monday I picked up the finished pieces from the post office. This is the sleeve trim and sleeve. I’ve been really loving the color blocking that designers have been doing lately, so the challenge was to make this look thoughtful, not necessary. I took this stitch pattern which I’ve used in Taos, and made it the bottom of the body and the sleeves. The balance is just stockinette. The gauge is really easy, 14.5 sts/4″ in in Stockinette.
This was so lovely that I took pics of the sleeve. When I finish the front trim, more pics will follow. The other project? Got that one too. I’m putting the finishing touches on it. The yarn? This piece is done in Willow Chunky from Zealana. 70% NZ merino, 30% cashmere. Yummy.
