Description
Cold weather is no reason to give in to drab. Cornice is worked here in baby soft cashmere, the inventive slip-stitch pattern in two yarn weights introduces pops of color that are easier to work and look impressive. Even natural colors play off each other to amazing effect. Finish with charming bows or a tailored top knot at the crown using techniques that minimize the sewing required. These hats are quick to work and easy to personalize to have one to match every winter outfit!
I cannot tell you how fabulously soft this cashmere is. If you can, I recommend buying it. You will feel good about it and won’t believe how good it feels. If you can’t swing the price, use whatever yarn you can! This hat is always stunning.

There are tips in the Construction blog post which will help with the finishing/blocking. These hats are a great way to play with color and are perfect for handspun yarn where there may be some variation in weight from skein to skein. I have made so many of these hats over the years because they are tailored and/or sophisticated, but still fun. The night I suggested to my mother that she do the reverse with her left over yarn she could hardly wait for our dinner to be over so she could get home and try it out.
