Description
THIS NO-COST PORTION OF THE PATTERN GIVES SWATCHING INSTRUCTIONS, SCHEMATICS, MEASURING GUIDANCE, AND IS A FILLABLE FORM FOR COLLECTING INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMIZATION.
In the Chios Cowl pattern the calculations are done by the Pattern Tailor to get a perfectly sized Chios Cowl for you, with the resulting pattern completely customized to your inputs.
Work Chios Cowl from the top down, or bottom up!
Yarn consumption will vary. In lace weight I used 270 to 280 yards / 247 to 256 meters.
There are 3 needle sizes, and you will need a BOR marker and optional stitch markers, and a tapestry needle.
Follow the instructions for making an in-the-round or I-cord swatch, but you can always work flat. This is, after all, a cowl.
You can record your information in this fillable form now so your Chios Cowl is your gauge swatch for the two pullovers being released in January/February!
This cowl combines Twisted Trio Rib on 3 different needles, to make the fabric different at three locations. The Mesh stitch pattern is open and airy — opposite of the twisted stitches.
There are GSRs (German short rows) in the Mesh to make the back hang at the same length as the front.
Completely customizable, I have given you my sample dimensions for comparison. There are instructions for taking measurements, and videos!
The price of the e-book will be $18 on January 2, 2026. Until then it is $15 on Payhip and Ravelry.
