Description

Inspired by French New Wave films, and specifically the wardrobes of the characters, this Tulle Collar starts my Technicolor designs with a versatile Brique Collar.  Be very French by using Tulle Collar to change the mundane to the fabulous. Adding Accessories to your wardrobe is the easiest way to refresh and expand your options with modest financial expenditures.  I’ve used contrasting neutrals, but this begs you to make it your own.

Tulle Collar (pronounced “Tooleh”) is a doubled collar done in two colors, then enhanced with Latvian Braid, diagonal buttonholes, button links, and joined with a flat 3-needle bind off.

Wear it flat, folded or in some other configuration, using button links  (mine use vintage buttons) to pull it together. Texture is provided by diagonal Brique pattern.

Fabric Diagonal Brique (knits, purls, Left- and Right-twists and k1-b)

Yarn Sport, squishy, 3-ply, worsted spun, worked in  two contrasting neutrals

Silhouette Folded, two-sided collar buttoned into diagonal buttonholes 2-color Latvian Braid
