These are the body measurements and sizing guidelines–or sizing charts–I developed to use to build my patterns. Ease is added to the measurements in the sizing chart to achieve the desired “look”, feel and wearability of each garment. Jill Wolcott Knits® maintains consistency between sizes to the extent stitch patterns allow. My sizing charts and guidelines are based upon years of experience in the clothing industry and with an eye to achieving great fit.
Any garment developed from a sizing chart and not from individual measurements will need to be adjusted for a more perfect fit for you. You can achieve a more perfect fit by taking your measurements and selecting the size from the sizing chart most closely matching your size. When working towards fit, reality is the key to perfect fit.

Jill Wolcott Knits® Sizing Charts & Guidelines: Missy
Choose your size based on your body measurements. Our patterns will always be based on the above measurements. Averaged (S/M/L-type) sizing is an average of sizes within that size. This is then your Jill Wolcott Knits® size; you should always refer to the pattern for finished measurements which will tell you how much design ease is in the garment.
Jill Wolcott Knits® Sizing Charts & Guidelines: Plus
We currently don’t have plus size patterns, but here are the measurements and sizing chart we use. There are six sizes because the XL for plus size patterns is slightly different from our missy XL.
This is not a comprehensive list of body measurements, but it is generally what is used for standard-size patterns. If making custom-size garments there are considerably more measurements that might be used. Email us to let us know if you would be interested in learning more.
