at the same time

At the same time is the phrase in knitting patterns that tells you to work multiple instructions at once. Many knitters hate this instruction, and writing it into a pattern is always tricky. This is an easy instruction to miss, when you’re following a pattern. And missing it often results in needing to frog back to correct it.

Knitting Pattern Language – at the same time

This instruction tells you that while following the current instruction you also need to work a second instruction. Be sure to read ahead to make sure you begin second instruction where needed.

For more information about working two sets of instructions I wrote more in-depth about it in this blog post.

For more information about knitting language see, Knitting Repeat Language, and Pattern as Established.
