At the same time is the phrase in knitting patterns that tells you to work multiple instructions at once. Many knitters hate this instruction, and writing it into a pattern is always tricky. This is an easy instruction to miss, when you’re following a pattern. And missing it often results in needing to frog back to correct it.

This instruction tells you that while following the current instruction you also need to work a second instruction. Be sure to read ahead to make sure you begin second instruction where needed.
