blocking lace

Blocking lace is a crucial part of knitting lace. To block lace, you use the wet blocking method.
Wet blocking is a method of blocking your knitting by soaking, and then pinning out your knitting. Giving a piece of knitting a wet block, is perfect for pieces that need a lot of stretching.

Blocking lace using wet blocking

Soak piece in cool water for about 15 min. Squeeze out excess water, roll in white towel. Cover surface with toweling. Pin piece stretching lightly, to desired dimensions. Use blocking wires or place pins, alternating sides until stretched evenly. Let dry.
