Lingerie straps are short pieces of fabric, or thread, sewn inside the shoulder of a garment with a snap on one end. Lingerie straps are snapped around a bra, slip, or camisole strap to keep the neckline and shoulder from shifting. This method of adding lingerie straps to your knitted garment, uses a chains (a crochet hook, knitting needle, or your fingers) to create a chain. This type of chain makes an excellent lingerie strap because it is sturdy without being bulky. Adjust your materials and where the snap and anchor are attached to match your knitted piece.

How to create lingerie straps
Create chain: Use a yarn tail or new yarn, sewing thread, or embroidery floss. Begin on WS, on the shoulder seam inside the neck trim. Make a chain with a crochet hook, knitting needle, or your fingers to make a chain approximately 1″ long or a length to accommodate your straps. Pull yarn through last loop.
Add snap: Sew one part of snap to the end of the chain (to 2 holes) using sewing thread. Sew the other part of the snap to the shoulder seam 1″ or desired length from the beginning.
