I need to plan my upcoming knitting for the next few weeks. I keep waking up wanting to knit new things, but I am stopping myself because I’m not sure I have time. That means it is time to look at my calendar and get realistic. For the same reasons you do it, having a new project is sometimes necessary. The key is going to be to choose something that will satisfy me, but either fit with something else so it isn’t just a flit off in a new direction, or is quick and satisfying so I can return to previous programming.
Upcoming Knitting Deadlines
I have a project that has an external deadline, but I don’t have the yarn yet, so I can’t use that to satisfy my itch to knit something new, but I need to keep in mind that it will need my attention when the yarn arrives.
I have a proposal idea that I want to do a swatch for, which might be just the thing and would help me move that project off my plate. Sadly, I can’t tell you about either one of those projects.
Upcoming Knitting Desires
Projects for my book would be the most logical things to pick up, and I have more than one I want to make, but I have made myself promise not to start any of them until I am certain what I am doing. So I am working on my swatches.
I recently mentioned the Las Vegas & Reno pattern in my newsletter. I really want to try this in some other yarn. I am itching to work on it, and I think it would only take a total of about 4 to 6 hours to make both items.
I was looking at my hanging bag of samples and there is a stole/wrap that I would really like to redo in another yarn. However, this is probably a 40 hour knitting project, which takes it out of the realistic projects realm for me right now. I probably need to get this knit for me. Boo.
Upcoming Knitting Realities
Well talking that through was therapeutic! I think I may have staved off that need to start something new for right now.
