Wealth of Content

Wealth of Content Needs More Sharing: Working Offsite

Lots of different areas of focus on my desk at San Diego TNNA earlier in January.

I’m traveling a lot this month, plus I started teaching classes at FIDM on Wednesday, so I’m going to try a little cross-pollination to try to spread the wealth of content I create. The danger of doing this is that if you are a faithful reader, follower, subscriber, you may see content more than once, making the wealth seem a little false. The flip side of that is that more knitters might become aware of the wealth of content I create.

Wealth of Content

I write two blog posts a week, I put up an interview post once a month, I do a weekly newsletter, and I post content links on Facebook and Ravelry. In addition, I try to put things on Instagram, and would like to do better on Pinterest, but who has time? In the year of focusing on how to market my business more effectively (2015), I learned:

Wealth of Content Needs More Sharing: Starship & TNNA

Working with others has it’s rewards. I love the Starship and TNNA for all the opportunities and colleagues I’ve found.

  1. that not everyone sees everything,
  2. not everyone notices everything they see,
  3. we all skip things because we are otherwise focused, and
  4. I create awesome content, which I am not using well enough.

Using Wealth of Content to Create More

I have lots of plans, and I have lots of content I have already created. It occurred to me that if I wasn’t creating as much new content, that if I could reuse some of the stuff I’ve already created, add to it, consolidate it into one place, and reintroduce it, I could actually buy myself some time to work on those plans I’m hatching! Better still if I could connect content across platforms in some meaningful and useful way, creating a win for me, and a win for those looking for good content!

Wealth of Content Needs More Sharing: Planning to Make it Happen

Planning to make things happen. I am always shocked how my time is consumed.

So that is what I’m going to do. I am planning new ways to share the wealth of content I have, so it is more meaningful and useful. Most importantly, I think this will help me to explain what lies within the content. This wealth will then continue as I add in new content and am able to present it in a thoughtful way that will show its sparkle and overall fabulousness.

So there will be more content based on the wealth I’ve already created. I will be adding new content, but sharing the wealth more effectively. Always, my weekly newsletter consolidates what I presented to the world that week, has a few thoughts from me, and is where I quietly release things to my favorite readers before it goes anywhere else. You can simplify your life by subscribing! I also post things to my Jill Wolcott Knits Facebook page and the fairly new Jill Wolcott Knits Group. There will be some repetition, but then you can just pat yourself on the back for being in the know.
